Space within a Space

Clustered Organization

Clustered organization can be created by combining spaces in several ways. Spaces can be combined according to their function, shape, or size and can be combined even if dissimilarities exist within the spaces and their form. Clustered organization can be arranged in a flexible manner.

The illustration below shows a clustered pattern that seems to be arranged more or less around the entrance of the building.

  2. I really like the pictures you choose to go along with your terms. They exemplify the concepts clearly and are interesting to look at. Your definitions are to the point and easy to understand. It would have been great if you had also included the diagrammatic representation of each term but either way, good job!

  6. Thank you for the examples. I think that you explained each principle well and then had a great example to back up your explanation. I also liked the variety of examples. It's important to recognize things such as space within a space and adjacent spaces in the interior and exterior built environment.
